Cooperative and Collaborative learning
Hello everyone🫶🏻 , here we are again , reflecting on the lecture about cooperative and collaborative learning .Actually it was a pretty interesting lecture ! 🙃I didn’t think I’d be that into it, but it made me see group work differently. Usually, group projects make me think of someone doing all the work while others just chill (we all know that’s true sometimes!😅🙂↔️). But the lecture explained ways to set up groups so everyone actually contributes, which sounds way better and an easier way that can lead to a more productive result.
This lecture emphasizes on using well-crafted questions to guide discussions struck a chord. By formulating questions that encourage deeper thinking, educators can create a learning environment where students are motivated to engage critically. This strategy has the potential to transform group discussions from surface-level exchanges to meaningful dialogues that deepen understanding and spark curiosity.
An another important part of this lecture underscored the role of technology in facilitating collaborative efforts, particularly in today’s interconnected world. Through shared online platforms and communication tools, students can bridge physical gaps, collaborate seamlessly, and contribute to a collective goal, even in a global context.
Speaking about using tech to collaborate in group projects i would like to share my experience with you guys. During my Erasmus semester, we used shared docs and group chats to work on projects, and it saved us so much time (and a lot of confusion!). It was an interesting project called “Shark Tanks”🦈🦈 where each group had to create a product and try to gain finances to produce it . Each of us had a specific job to do, for example i would deal with the costs of producing the pediatric, the sales predicted and the final profit form this product . Others had different tasks like layout , powerpoint, function, bringing the product and so on. At the end we would all gather our work and the final product was amazing. None of us had to do more than supposed to and we actually had so much fun doing this project. It was cool to see how everyone could stay on the same page even if we were from different countries.
Overall, the lecture offered a comprehensive framework that highlights the value of cooperative learning strategies and the methods needed to implement them effectively. They suggested asking questions like, “What did I do well?” or “What could I do better?” At first, I thought, "Do I really need to think about this?" But honestly, it might be a good way to improve for the next project.😁😁😁
See you next time guys … Have a rocking week 🫶🏻🫶🏻
